Deborah Higgins is the Vice President of Program for the Fetzer Institute. In this role and in collaboration with the president, she is responsible for leading both the development and implementation of the Institute’s program strategy and continuing efforts to strengthen organizational culture and community. Deborah joined the Institute and program team in 2001, and has since served in increasingly senior roles. Particular areas of interest for Deborah include leadership development, organizational well-being, whole system approaches to community engagement, and how organizations harvest, synthesize and share learnings from their work. Deborah holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology from Western Michigan University. Before joining the Fetzer Institute, Deborah was responsible for a number of administrative leadership positions at the University.
