Under her leadership, Iceland became a founding member of the Wellbeing Economy Governments (WEGo) partnership in 2018, collaborating with nations like Scotland and New Zealand to prioritise citizen wellbeing over traditional economic metrics. She remains a respected leader in international dialogues, emphasising integrating human rights and wellbeing into economic and social policies.
What the world needs now is leadership where caring for humans and nature is primary, with a clear vision that caring is not only possible, but vital when circumstances are harsh.
