Hyppolite Ntiguriwa is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, during which he endured profound personal loss and trauma. Hyppolite has transformed his experiences into a lifelong commitment to peace and reconciliation. Hyppolite fosters healing and peace by using storytelling, art, and grassroots dialogue. Founder of Be the Peace, an organisation dedicated to halting the intergenerational transmission of hate through art and fostering cross-generational healing. In 2019, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the genocide, he undertook the Be the Peace Walk, a 100-day performance piece covering 1,500 kilometres across Rwanda, engaging communities in dialogues about peace and forgiveness. Hyppolite is also the author of A Boy Called Hyppo, a memoir detailing his journey from surviving the genocide to becoming a peace advocate.
