Currently a professor at Georgetown University, focusing on the challenge of ending poverty in our lifetime.

My current focus is on the endlessly complex issue of engaging religious voices and especially their experience, inspiration, and the trust they have earned in global debates on peace, people, and planet.  I am coming to the Forum motivated by a curiosity to learn how others see the challenges and opportunities, and a desire to meet new people with very different backgrounds and perspectives.

The forum takes a different tack on the central challenges for our time. Rarely has there been a greater need for creative thinking and will to act.

Plural societies offer a richness that comes from differences in approach, experience, and, at times, core values. Religious differences are among the most fundamental yet least understood, notably because they link to so many other facets of the human experience.
